Madventures is a Finnish travel show that premiered on the Subtv channel in 2002. The show avoids tourist attractions, focusing instead on the weirder and more hardcore elements of every country they’ve visited. Hosted by Riku Rantala and Tuomas “Tunna” Milonoff, the two emphasize that they are on a journey, not on a holiday. The travel documentary is made on a relatively low budget with no major production crew but rather just the two hosts traveling together with the shooting equipment.
The first two seasons was broadcasted exclusively in Finland. The third season of the show was sold to Travel Channel and Fiver, effectively giving the show an international audience and a wider reach.
Madventures is produced by Gimmeyawallet Productions. This upstart production house contacted psychoCOW productions in March 2009 for logistic assistance for their Philippine Shoot. With our assistance, Madventures went to Cutud, Pampanga to take part in the flagellation ritual (Yes, the Finnish guy mentioned in the news was Riku), visited the Tau’t Batu tribe in Palawan, danced with the Dancing Prisoners in Cebu, slept in a cemetery in Manila, and so much more.
